Killaloe

The Royal Irish Regiment | SILCD4143 | 738572414320 | Album | Marching Band

The Royal Irish Regiment was created in 1992 with the merger of The Royal Irish Rangers and The Ulster Defence Regiment.

The band was formed a year later and when uniquely combining with Bugles, Pipes & Drums they boasted the largest regimental musical ensemble in the British Army before sadly disbanding in October 2007.

Killaloe was one of the most popular marches in the Irish regiments of the British Army and is based on a song written for the 1887 London musical Miss Esmeralda.

This collection brings together a fascinating collection of military music plus stirring film themes that include Out Of Africa and Braveheart.
