Roman Polanski’s 1999 supernatural thiriller The Ninth Gate (starring Johnny Depp) was a worldwide commercial success, despite being perceived as inferior to Polanski’s classic, Rosemary’s Baby. The soundtrack, by Wojciech Kilar, further established the composer as a master of supernatural suspence and features Korean-born soprano Sumi Jo.
